Ashley A. Askari joined the firm in 2019 as an associate in the Miami office. Ms. Askari focuses her career on insurance coverage matters and specializes in complex claim investigations and trial. Ms. Askari represents national and local insurance carriers in state and federal courts, and she counsels clients through pre-suit claim investigations, examinations under oath, and litigates coverage disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Askari began her career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County. There, Ms. Askari zealously advocated for her clients, deposed hundreds of witnesses, argued constitutional and evidentiary motions, and tried numerous jury cases to verdict. In 2016, Ms. Askari transitioned her career to civil litigation where she represented insurance carriers in suspect claim investigations, pre-litigation investigations, and litigated matters through trial.
During her tenure as a public defender, Ms. Askari was award “Best Advocate” at the state wide Public Defender college. While in law school, Ms. Askari was an active member of Lambda Law, mentored first year law students, and devoted her second and third years to defending indigent clients. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Askari devoted her time outside of the classroom to service. She was a member of the Political Science National Honor Society and Dean’s List, and Ms. Askari was awarded the Sumner’s Scholarship for demonstrating academic excellence and civic responsibility.
