Melanie D. Sigel joined the firm in November 2018 as an Associate. Ms. Sigel focuses her practice on counseling, defending, and litigating matters for insurance carriers and self- insured companies in state and federal courts. She assists clients in the investigation of claims, provides coverage opinions, and litigates first party insurance claims and third party claims including premises liability, professional negligence and products liability.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sigel was an associate in the Miami office of a business litigation firm, where she gained extensive experience litigating commercial disputes throughout the State of Florida.
While a law student, Ms. Sigel was a member of the Dean’s List and a recipient of a Book Award in Legal Drafting. She clerked at a respected Miami complex litigation firm and also worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic, where she represented survivors of domestic violence. In her final year of law school, Ms. Sigel served as the treasurer of the Jewish Law Students Association and as a research assistant to the director of the law school’s Center on Children and Families.
