Michael Simon

Mr. Simon founded Simon, Reed & Salazar, P.A., in September 2009 and is the managing shareholder of the firm.The firm continues to grow and focuses its practice on evaluating, defending, and litigating both first party insurance claims and third party liability claims including personal injury, products liability, maritime, and premises liability cases in state and federal courts throughout Florida.

Throughout his career, Mr. Simon has represented a wide variety of clients primarily in the areas of insurance law, complex litigation, professional liability, products liability, construction defect, personal injury, commercial litigation, and admiralty and maritime disputes for domestic and international clients. Mr. Simon has tried cases to verdict for his clients in both state and federal courts.

In his practice, Mr. Simon assists clients in investigating and evaluating insurance claims and complying with Florida’s Claims Administration Statute and rules. He also provides coverage opinions for multiple lines of insurance and works with clients to obtain recoveries in subrogation actions.

Mr. Simon has defended third party claims including wrongful death, personal injury, construction defects, premises liability and negligent security. He also has experience in the defense of professional liability cases including Error and Omission claims against brokers and agents as well as legal malpractice claims. He has defended cruise lines and tour operators in maritime personal injury claims brought by passengers and crew.

Mr. Simon has experience as to insurance coverage matters advising clients and defending claims including complex coverage issues,  third party liability, property including Specie (Jewelers Block and cash in transit), Fine Art, and cargo and marine insurance. Mr. Simon has coordinated the defense of mass tort claims as lead counsel on behalf of a Fortune 500 Company, acted as coordinating counsel including supervising local counsel as to complex claims, and has advised and counseled insurers as to claims and litigation strategy to be employed state wide as to emerging trends and claims.
